Technical Director:

The technical director should have basic knowledge of working with power tools. We primarily use wood and wood products as we don't have soldering tools.  Liberty Drama has a dedicated Scene Shop and Scene Storage area. We have a pneumatic staple gun, a table saw, crosscut saw, band saw, battery drill, and drill press. We try to use our stock platforms and scenery as often as possible.

The technical director at Liberty High School helps us build and complete the sets for our productions. The position works closely with the director to design and plan for the building of the sets. Liberty Drama traditionally holds Saturday work parties from 9-4 over several weekends to build the sets. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to attend, putting in at least 4 hours of time. The tech director does spend some time teaching students and parents how to implement tools and designs.

The tech director must be able to supervise students and will need to pass a background check provided by the school district. The stage director will be present for parts of the work parties, but will not be present the entire time.

The hours for working on the sets are flexible and can be worked out with the director. The school district is currently paying at about $21.00 an hour.
